Solo exhibition - 'The place I call home'

Solo exhibition - 'The place I call home'

I'm super excited to announce my first solo exhibition: 'The place I call home'.

I grew up in Taggerty, Victoria in a home hidden amongst bushland at the base of the Cathedral Ranges. Growing up in this beautiful small town was the beginning of my passion for all things creative, and when my love of the earth, colour, light, and the flow of nature began.

After graduating high school nearby in Alexandra in 2010, I then trained as a graphic designer (BA.Communication Design), and worked in this field for several years. Fast forward to now and I am currently working solely as an artist.

Many aspects of my artworks draw from my formal design training - negative space, colour, balance – to name a few.  My abstractions are best known to be layered and flowing, heavily inspired by the fluidity and movement of the earth’s elements; water, air, fire and smoke.

I am inspired by nature and also draw from my own personal experiences, allowing the emotions, memories, feelings to guide my intuitive painting process. My artworks across all mediums are expressive and full of movement. When I paint I pour my heart and soul into the artwork.

Over the years my works have been featured several times on popular renovation shows ‘The Block’ & ‘House Rules’. I was excited to collaborate with renowned beauty empire ‘Ella Bache’, and several of my works hang proudly in the newly built Crown Sydney, One Barangaroo. My works are in collections across Australia and internationally.

I am sooooo excited to be doing my very first solo exhibition in the Murrindindi region, right in the heart of Marysville, where I spent lots of my childhood, and isn’t far from home at Taggerty (a mere 15 mins!). I couldn’t think of a better place in the world to continue my art journey and present my latest artworks at my first solo exhibition, other than the place I call home!

‘The place I call home’ exhibition will include a collection of original abstract works heavily inspired by my memories of growing up in the local area, natural environment, and the inevitable influence this has had on my life. Some of my absolute favourite things are the sunlight at golden hour, the stars and the night sky, mountains at sunset, and the sounds of the birds. At my exhibition I really hope to bring you a sense of nostalgia, an air of warmth, and most of all - feelings of home.
